E. Oscar Brathwaite has a diverse background in education and training. He received his degrees in the Master of Education, Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto; Post Graduate Studies in Education Theory, University of Toronto; Certificate in Architectural Technology from Ryerson (Polytechnic) University; and other professional educational qualification including the Ontario Secondary School Principals’ qualifications..
Oscar has extensive experience in the area of education and training, He has written and lectured on many topics including, diversity in education, technical-vocational education and training, empowering African Canadian students to succeed, etc, in different forums, regions and countries.
Oscar has worked in the areas of education and training for over thirty five years, both in Canada and Southern Africa including (Botswana, Kenya, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe), and he has travelled extensively in many countries. The institutions that benefited from his consultancy include:
- Botswana Polytechnic, Gweru Technical
- College, Zimbabwe, Swaziland Ministry of Education, Zambia Teacher National Union,
- Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic,Barbados, Toronto District School Board, Canada.
Oscar has also contributed significantly to the African Canadian community,and organizations for over thirty-five years which includes the following:
